[This post was updated on Sunday, June 11, 2017 with new guidance and troubleshooting instructions]
Dear Palo Alto Networks customers,
Content Apps & Threats versions 706 and 707 contained a signature that contributed to an inadvertent increase in memory utilization, ultimately causing commit failures on some devices running PAN-OS versions 6.1.x and 7.0.x. While this signature was removed with content version 708, additional steps beyond content upgrade may be required for some affected customers to successfully commit on their devices. Please follow the steps in the following troubleshooting guide to mitigate this issue.
https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/t5/Customer-Resources/Guide-for-Resolving-TDB-UPDATE-BLOCK-Issues-Related-to-Content/ta-p/160631
Please note the following:
- Some customers running PAN-OS versions 7.0.x and earlier have experienced commit failures with a “TDB_BLOCK_UPDATE” error message after installing content 706 and 707. This issue only affects customers running PAN-OS 7.0.x and earlier and can be addressed by following the steps in the guide linked above.
- Customers who have not installed content version 706 or 707 are advised to skip directly to installing the latest version of Content Apps & Threats (version 708 or later).
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we work to quickly address this issue. At this time we are working to determine the root cause and will post an update once our engineers have concluded their investigation.
Thank you,
The Palo Alto Networks Support Team
