Palo Alto Announcement - Important information regarding CVE-2015-3456 (VENOM)
On May 13, 2015, Palo Alto Networks became aware of a vulnerability affecting QEMU, a software component used in the WildFire malware analysis system. The Palo Alto Networks product security team has determined that the WildFire cloud and WF-500 appliance are affected.
The WildFire cloud was patched for the vulnerability today, May 15th, and customers using the WildFire cloud service do not need to take any additional action. Palo Alto expect to release a hotfix update for the WF-500 software on Thursday, May 21st, and WildFire appliance customers are advised to apply the update as soon as it is available.
